httping software package provides ping-like program for http-requests, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install httping
httping is installed in your system.
Make ensure the httping package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep httping *
You will get with httping package name, version, architecture and description in a table
